I was told my someone that mulch would hinder the growth of tulips & daffodils and any other spring coming bulb.....Also that it would keep them from multiplying...Especially the tulips....Is this true...?
Thanks, I'm a new member so please answer fast...

To my mind too much mulch would cause the bulbs to be too deep in the ground. That would cause them not to grow. But a little topping should not hurt them.

I put a 1-2" layer of wood chips over my bulbs and it has never hurt any of them. It might even help a little for winter protection. Most of by bulbs have also multiplied so I don't see it as a problem either. Hope this helps

I've never had a problem with mulch, I use pine needles, hindering daffs or lilies. Too much will hinder the blooms of iris, or at least it does where I live.
