Hello all, I have a rose in my garden and it seems to produce weak leaves (don't know how to describe it exactly). Also, the leaves seem to curl and there are some strange looking edges. Perhaps the photos will clarify what I am trying to describe above. Please be so kind to look at them. The rose is Paul's Scarlet Climber, by the way. I am hoping that some of you might know what I am missing here. Do I need to feed my rose something in particular or is there some kind of disease playing house in and on my rose? Awaiting your kind replies, Eric Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm thinking you are in Florida? I can give you three different answers judging by the picture. Thrips of Midges are possibilities. Are there any bugs or small maggots on the leaves or flowers? Those can be treated with sprays. OR it could be a potassium deficiency. Have you soil tested (at your local university extention, or get a soil tester at the garden center.) If it shows your soil is too acidic, apply lime. If soil PH is ok, the feed with potassium nitrate. Hope this helps PS. I just saw your blueberry post....where is that in relation to your rose??? sass |

With magnesium, the leaves usually turn yellow from the middle out... My other guess would then be a copper deficiency, that presents as wilted leaves with no yellowing. If it were my rose, I would try 1/4 teaspoon of copper sulfate, and a 1/2 cup of epsom salts. Just to cover both bases. |
