We live on the top floor of a building in Chicago. We are limited to container gardening and I would like to build a long flower box alongside a wooden rail on our deck. I have insulated our existing containers with bubble wrap due to the cold winters in Chicago. Any suggestions on building an insulated flower box? Building material, etc?

There is foam board from aprox 1/4" thick up to 2 or 3 inches. Could be easily cut with a knife and glued (or not) together and fit inside a premade box or one you make. It could then be lined with plastic like a green trash bag. Just a thought but I live in warm country
