Hello all, Many people are not aware of the free services from the pest management offices from their state. In the state of Maine, where I live, the Maine cooperative extension (which is a community educational outreach program) offers free disease identification services and pest identification. This is useful to my gardening clients for 1.) They don't have to spend $1000's of dollars for a service that guesses that it is a certain fungus and sprays with a generic fungicide. Some fungus' are cause by host plants that if you get rid of them it can solve the problem so you don't have to keep spraying as much. It is really important to know exactly what you have. click on the following link to check it out. http://pmo.umext.maine.edu/ipddl/ipddl.htm Try searching in google for pest management + "your state" + lab You should find your own Insect and Plant disease diagnostic lab. |
