I am looking for a sunblock to apply to leaves to stop or reduce photosynthesis. Yes, it's opposite of the norm but it's part of a research project. This could also be a dust or anything which might protect plants from insects. Thank you |

Although I wouldn't recommend it..oil based paint..? I don't think they make a product specifically for what you are asking. I think I could tell you the result of the experiment. Leaf drop and eventual re-foliation of the tree...or the tree dies. |

While traveling overseas, I noticed strawberry farmers using a mesh (dark/black) to prevent excess sun exposure to the plants. Each plant had its own spot of shade during the hottest part of the day. In my mind, almost the same as a chilled beverage on the porch after lunch. |

It is somewhat a weird question but it is so coool. I never thought of that one, as plants needs sunlight in order to do photosynthesis.
