Has any used plastic soda bottles or milk cartons , jugs to make bird houses ? I made a few up this winter and would make more is i had a idea they worked. |

witt ,, I have had the flu for a couple weeks.Not getting the shot next year. lol I'm starting to mend so i will be here to bug you more. LOL |

Plastic bottles and milk cartons may be used for birdfeeders, but never use them for bird houses. #1 They are very poorly insulated and offer no protection from heat and cold like a well designed birdhouse. #2 Predators can tear them apart with little effort and get at the eggs/babies. When making nestboxes, always go by proper demensions, air holes, wood thickness etc. Ron www.gardening-for-wildlife.com |
