Hi everyone !

Yesterday when i was cleaning my Bunny's cage i found that the waste has useful material which can be used in composting, (waste has rabbit droppings, sawdust which i spread on cage floor, uneaten leaves/fruits etc.)
1. can anyone tell me the recipe of how to make compost from this rabbit waste ?
2. I have two big trees at home and they shed too much leaves, can i use the leaves also in composting ?
3. can i use big waste shoppers to contain the composting material instead of container ?
4. what is the method of composting, i heard somewhere that layer by layer material is added and water + air but couldn't understand the procedure clearly please help.

Bunny waste is good to use. Leaves also are good. There is a rhyme, "equal parts of green and brown, help to break the compost down". Green items being grass clippings, vegetable waste (peelings etc.)coffe grounds, egg shells. You can also use weeds if they haven't flowered yet, plant waste from clipping, pruning or last years containers, manure. Brown items being leaves, shredded paper, small twigs. you can layer or if you are using a bin, turn it with a rake or fork. It should be kept about as damp as a wrung out sponge. I must confess I rarely water mine, but turn it once a week. If you notice a sour smell coming from you compost you have added to much 'green" and should add more leave or shredded paper. Hope this helps some...

I read somewhere that you can't stop composing. It is a natural process that can't be stopped. Everything breaks down if it's in the right ratios or not. It just might take longer or smell or draw flies and critters. As far as layering goes..it is probably best but once you turn it, it is no longer layered anyway. So, all green or all brown will eventually break down. Even meat. Yes, you can do it in a plastic trash bag. It helps it to get hot and stay moist but you do need to open it and turn it to get air in. Just my take on it.
