Yeah! Two hummers, a male and female, showed up at the feeders today. I promptly hung out four more for their hungry fellow travelers! The finches are confused because I had to move one of their feeders to make room and they keep trying to "feed" on the hummer feeders.

Fantastic, the quicker they come to you the faster they will be in my yard.

Finches will feed from the hummer feeders too.

I didn't know that! They sure were flocking to the nectar. Thanks for the insight!

We've seen two. The weather has been too bad to sit outside, so there may be more!

Up to four now...frustrated that I'm at work too many hours to really know and by the time I get home it's getting dark. I have all day Monday off so I'll be sitting on the porch trying to see how many I really have!

Wonderful. So far, none here or at least, I've seen none. We've had about four days of dreary weather, so I haven't been sitting outside either.

My bottlebrush is in almost TOTALLY full bloom now, and I have seen 4 (I think) that just swarm it!. I can't get close enough to take a picture-the cat and the dog have to come with me, and the hummers stay away. I have the little hummers come on the patio where the shrimp plants are blooming, and they go the petunias and the rose bushe and the azaleas. They're everywhere! All 4 of them!

I've always had feeders out year round here. We usually have scouts coming by around Valentine's Day and this year was not different. We have 27 feeders out now and everyday we have too refill at least 5 - but my solution is strong right now - they need the energy. May 1st I will cut the solution to 1 cup sugar to 4 cups of water. I don't add food coloring - but do hang red "danger tape" (purchased at Lowe's, really cheap) on each feeder. I love my hummer's and I really love to see all the nests that they build around here.

Just saw our first tiny hummer in Cheraw, S.C., at dusk on 04/07/09. He was the first of many, I hope... he was just a 'scout', I believe. Hope he survived our last frost of the season.

My neighbor saw the first one last evening. I will have a little more time tomorrow and will sit quietly to see if I spy one around my feeders.
