Anxiously awaiting and anticipating. The feeders are cleaned and laying in a row in their own special drawer. Soon?

At last ....... "HUMMER WATCH 2009"!! I was wondering when someone would start a thread and thought I would do it myself, but it's a little early for us yet ~ you will see them before we do. Since I am boring beyond belief, I actually keep track of the arrival and departure dates each year. Average ETA is April 6th. So that means I will be hanging feeders in breathless anticipation around mid-March. Please let us know when they're on the way ~ I can NOT wait!!!

I guess the Florida folks will be the first. I didn't see my first one last year until April 4 or 6. Somewhere around there. We usually put our feeders out in March, but it's usually April when they arrive for us.

I didn't mark the arrival last year, dumb me. I will be better this year, I promise. I'll be putting the feeders out on Thursday (my day off from paid work) and will post IMMEDIATELY when they arrive!

We have native hummers that stay here year round. I see them occasionally during the winter, but my bottle brush is beginning to bloom and hummers love it! Saw one yesterday. We only get the droves on them here in September when they're headed to Mexico. I don't know why we don't get them on the way back!

Going to mix up the hummer food and hang those feeders this afternoon. Won't be long until they will be flying by to see 'whats cookin'. With the crazy weather I wonder if even they will know when it is save to seek new territory. LB

Got three feeders hung today. The birds are a little annoyed cause I moved their feeders to do this. I've five more to hang as soon as I see any. Yippee!

I don't know if I should even be involved! We have hummers here all year long, though not as many as we see in the fall. There is always some type of flower blooming here, even if its just weeds. I rarely put a feeder out in the summer or even spring, because I have so many flowers. And the hot weather just cooks the juice!
