Well I planted the seed tray on friday and monday morning I had the smallest of sprouts on my onions, most of them anyway. So I lifted the corner of the lid and noticed that where I put the bamboo skewers as placement reminders there was white fuzzy on the bamboo, I took the sticks out immediately and did some google searching and put some hydrogen peroxide on a q-tip and ran it gently over the areas that the bamboo had touched the pellets. I can not see any to the naked eye but I know its there. The hydrogen peroxide was the more previlent of solutions. ANY OTHER ADVICE? the onions are the only ones to sprout yet, should I take the lid off completely and just watch and water when needed or should I just leave it cracked and hope for the best. When I say smallest of sprouts some are just 1/8 inch and several are about 1/16 an inch through the soil. Either way I am excited they sprouted. |

take the lid off for a couple of hours a day. the condensation build up is causing the fuzz. |

Thank you!!! It was off 4 hours this morning, now it is back on with the end that has the sprouted stuff just lifted open a bit, like the instructions say to do. The cells are still dark brown and feel like a damp sponge, they are not wet nor dry is that good? |

you want moist, not wet. Wet can cause dampening off. and you don't want the babies to dry up. |
