ok morelike 3 LOL i wanna know if/when carrots flower or how you would get seeds from them? thinkin get more seeds from what i grow i know queen annes lace is like wild carrot well thats what ive herd
then lettuces an cabbages when do they seed?

an LOL are there outher like true veggies i should be askin general stuff bout an how ta get seeds from?

--yup i think i wanna try carrots an alla that fun stuff with my containers (i think imma need more containers)

You know, I never thought about that, but carrots are in the parsley family. Maybe they have to grow a year and then set seed their second year.

My leaf lettuce that was left in the garden, threw up flowers and made seed one year.

I don't think that we have ever left our cabbage out after harvesting to see what it would do.

Broccoli will bolt to flower very quickly.

hmm we dont eat much broccli unless with cheese an then well carrots + containers +zone 5 winters would there be an issue? i know i left the garlic in over the winter an the next year it was gone

hmm the outhers howliong you think it take? an anythin on lettuce?

--yea prolly gonna be included in my garden book thing some once ive done it atleast once LOL

I did a little research, and yes, carrots are bienniel and they do go to seed, but they won't necessarily be true to the original plant and will cross pollinate with Queen Anne's lace. I guess that's not a good idea to use them.

Lettuce bolts fairly quickly when the temps get hot here.

uhh im in a suburb i diont *think* theres queen annes lace round here milwaukee area tho an yea i was thinkin of acouple diff carrot varieties dont think id mind if they crossed? somethin ta try tho

Here's a carrot (Healthmaster) that we wintered over the top in a flowerpot, it flowered, produced seed and we planted those with no problems..There is no Queen anees near, and only water hemlock a few miles away..so the seed were fine, and very productive

Just an FYI, yes there is Queen Anne's lace around here. The Milwaukee area. It's found all over.

sas could you post a picture of it? an LOL hmm well im like way close to the lake dont wanna say exact city but hmm its small squareish an on the lake hmm we DO have a semi new highschool
