My 4 year old stayed home from school today. He was not sick, he just needed some alone time with mom. I have been wanting to start my seed so bad and today there was just no reason not to. He has been asking to plant the seens since V day when they got them for me. So today we started spanish onions, cilantro, serrano and jalapeno peppers in the jiffy seed starter greenhouse kit. I used all 72 spaces. LOL... I really had a great time doing this with him. He wrote all my lables and helped me put each seed in. It will be so exciting to see them sprout. |

Hi from Elkton (leans out window on west side of house and waves toward Hop-town).Yup, once in awhile the kiddos just need a break and some special time with a big person. Every so often on the weekend, I would declare a "Pajama Day"; no getting dressed, we'd just stay in our pajamas all day...any light housework or chores that needed dooing were done in slippers and robe, and there was a lot of rolling around on the floor with the puppies and napping on couches or a sleeping bag on the floor with the dogs and a very spoiled cat. I'm starting lots of tomatoes, peppers and basil on a shelf in the window myself right now...by May 1 when its safe to transplant everything out to be nice and big. My kids are in their upper teens, so other than insisting that the garden contain my daughter's favorite, Green Zebra Tomatoes, and my son's favorite, FOOD, they don't get too excited about my garden, LOL! |
