Well, they are holding on. Initially, I put several tibouchina cuttings in water, but was told to plant in soil. Did that, they are holding on at this point. Will keep you posted!

I love tibous but have not had luck propagating. They did come back last year for me here in SC. Will do the 'wait and see' after these cold freezing days we have had.

Good luck. Do post pix when you can. Linda B

Hi yardgranny,
Did your tibos come back? My cutting is doing okay.

Here's a recent pic of my tibo cutting.

The mother plant has looked lovelyer in the past. I nearly lost it year before last in a freeze. It has never been the same since then but still holding on. And, it has not bloomed since the freeze two years ago.

Recent pic of mother tibo.

My tibo's are coming along but slowly. I even moved one and it is showing nice growth at ground level. All three survived the extra cold weather. I love their showing in late summer.

Hi yardgranny,
Do you have yours in pots? Are they getting shade, partial shade or what?

My Tibou doesn't seem too healthy these days. I am having to snap the larger leaves off as they turn yellow. I think they are in a completly different growing cycle, maybe because they are older now? Not sure.

One Tibou cutting made it and it seems to be doing okay at this time.

ONe of you describe this plant to me. Does it have another name? Shrub? Die to ground in winter? How big? I've seen that before, but I have never heard it called Tibou.

My tibos are growing what seems slowly to me. Being a tropical plant the spring and early summer was a bit cool for them. They should begin to bloom in the next few weeks.

One of my Angel Trumpets up next to the house has lots of buds. This is the white one. The other plant next to this one is just starting. These two AG's being next to the house get a head start on the ones out in the gardens.

yardgranny,
Do you have your Tibou in shade, semi shade? Is your Tibou in ground or potted? I'm concerned for mine. She just doesn't look well. Even the cutting I've been having now for a while is not doing as good as it had been. Not sure what is ailing it

My Tibouchinos are in a part sun/shade area and are really slow just like my angel trumpets. I am concered that I may not see many flowers on either of these plants this year.

One angel trumpet put out a nice stand of flowers but the others just keep getting higher and higher.
