My mother-in-law sent me a photo of a flower in her garden that she has forgotten the name of...does anyone know what this is? Thanks!!

well somewhere to start...

It kind of looks like a agapanthus to me.

can you give us a description of the plant? And is that a macro photo of the flower? Any leaf photos? I am thinking that it may be a Caryopteris, which is a shrub-like woody perennial that flowers in whorls like that. It is hard to tell without a description.
