Hi, All. Does anyone out there have advice for a hardy ground cover I can try? I was growing dychondra successfully (see photos) between the stones in my back yard (a substantial area) but lost most of it this fall when the season changed. Another contributing factor not obvious from these older photos is that my perimeter trees are now 2 years old and so the area has become much more shaded for a larger portion of the day. I am in Southern California, by the way...Venice Beach...a few blocks in from the ocean. I need something that will stay filled in year-round and withstand moderate foot traffic. I'm a novice gardener (if not already obvious!) and appreciate any advice/ideas. Many Thanks! LeAnn aka zenlifer

I have great success with creeping jenny, either the green or the golden. It loves the shade, grows great, and will stand up to foot traffic. I've even been blessed with yellow blooms in the spring.

Welcome to Garden Guides, by the way.
