Finally had an excuse to rip up the unsightly forsythia along the back fence. This Camellia is an Ackerman hybrid called Camellia oleifera 'Winter Star'

I don't think I'll miss the forsythia much, hehe

That is pretty. Fortunately we inherited a few camelias when we moved here. I enjoy them.

I think its a beautiful plant, Dude, but it appears to be a little too close to the fence. They get fairly big.

Here are a couple of Camellias from my yard. The first one is the first bloom after I severely cut it back mistaking it for a plant I did not want a few years ago. I may be the prettiest one I have. Don't know any of their names. I have two others a white that is full of buds and a red that have not bloomed yet.

It's actually about three feet or so off the fence. Unfortunately I couldn't dig the hole any further out because the cable/phone line runs there.

It was hard to tell from the pic. Keep her pruned up and it should be fine! Good luck with it!

Oh, and I forgot to say that yours are beautiful, yg. I have no luck with camellias except for my sasanqua. She bloomed her head off this fall.
