I always meant to, but I never introduced myself!! And then it seemed silly, but I was looking at the introductions tonight and I should do that. My name's Aimee. I'm from Southern Indiana, right in the Steamy Toe. I once thought I was going to be an artist, then I decided I was going to be an archaeologist. As it turns out I'm a chef and I've lived all over the country doing chef type work, but now I'm back home and not looking to move any time soon. I rent from my best friend and surrogate mom who I met in college (the first time around as an art student). She inherited the house she grew up in, so now we share it. Maybe one day I'll be married like normal people but for now I'm quite happy where I am. We have a nice yard and garden, and I've always grown herbs and vegetables. My real mother is a HUGE housplant and ornamental gardner so I've picked up some tips from her, but I never had time to really devote myself to my garden until this year. After finally settling down in the same place for a few years I got a job with evening hours so I have all those energetic morning hours to work outside! I put in a fern garden this spring and was looking for information on how to care for them when I found this forum, and here I've been every day since. Thank you all for being such cool people and sharing your knowledge so freely! I've learned so much. |

I feel like I've known you forever. Isn't that something? These are the greatest folks here. I came in back in March for a plant ID, and I just can't stay away. The camaraderie is wonderful, and everyone is so kind and helpful. I learn something new everyday. Thanks for sharing the formal introduction. |

Somehow, I suspect most of us GG posters were looking for a plant answer when we luckily stumbled over this great group of internet friends. Thanks for giving us your low down and congrats for being able to garden at last. Linda B |

Welcome, although we have been blogging together for a while. I lived in southern Indiana for 33 years in Jeffersonville before settling down here in Jabez, Ky. I enjoy reading your post. You have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell |
