One seed I am looking forward to planting in the upcoming season is the Candy Mountain Foxglove! It is a hardy biennial.

Most digitalis have downward facing flowers. This variety has flowers that face upward! Their fields of foxglove photos looks lovely too. Apparenty this comes in one color that is a bright purple with a pinkish tone.

Another very pretty flower in the catalog is Silene Jack Flash. I have not purchased this one but have it on my seed list wants.

There seems to be some variation in color from the online photos and the catalog. In their 2009 catalog on page 9, it appears bright red. Online, the photos of the flower look orange-ish. Here is a nice, red photo of the flowers online:

Another gardener mentioned to me that T&M lists this Silene as zones 6-9. Dave's Garden lists this plant down to zone 4!

If you have experience with growing this flower, please let us know if you have success with it in zones 4 or 5!
