Hello everyone! I'm new here, new to everything, and drooling all over myself. I was wondering, however, if there were any herbologists or herb buffs out there willing to take on a student? I'd love to learn to make my own aids, concoctions, remedies, etc, as well as learning about the plants themselves -for- themselves. Unfortunately, I'm not a very social person. It seems any time I find a teacher--they move, they leave metaphorically speaking, or they don't take on students. I can't afford a class on this sort of botany--not to mention that the only place that teaches it in my price range is a monstrous drive--and I have very little alternative outlet for education. I've always been a, "just go do it" person, but 'just go do it' might end up killing me when it comes to plants. Lmao. Any takers? I won't think less of you if you flee from my general vicinity!

The internet is LOADED with herb information. Just google away! You probably will discover all kinds of wonderful things. If you have any specific questions or comments, just put them in this section. |

Thanks, I know the internet is full of information, but I'd rather have a teacher. Someone to .. share the fact that pennyroyals--or some such--make you sick before .. uh .. you nibble them. Heh. Thanks anyway. |

I've gotten most of my herbalism info from this site under the plant information tab, and I click on "herbs." It's really extensive. I dabble in herbalism, but I don't know very much. |

A book that will really help you is "The Herb Book" by John D. Lust. It's a paperback, printed a few decades ago, but is very complete in its listings. It even describes how to go about making tinctures and distillations. Amazon.com may be able to locate you a copy. |
