I received this gorgeous uhmm cactus/palm three years ago for Mothers Day and it was about 8 inches high, well it said 8 inch potted plant and it wasnt the pot, so I assumed, the plant..lol..Well there were no ID tags on it so I never figured out what it was. I havent seen one anywhere that comes close to it. The *pricklys* on it are like seriously sharp needles, I got priked by it and honestly I felt nausea by it. The top falls off every winter time and it generates new ones every year. The leafy part of it I mean. Can anyone help me identify this? Many thanks.

Not a cactus, but a succulent & sometimes referred to as a palm (Madagascar Palm is its common name), this is Pachypodium geayi. Yours is a very nice, tall one!
