I have heard of all kinds of scare tactics. Fake hawks or owls. Those spinning lawn decorations. Balloons. Loud wind chimes.Strips of tin foil. Hanging aluminum pie plates. I have no idea how well they work since I haven't had that problem . . . yet, but do let us know if you try any of these scare tactics and if any of them work. Good luck!

If the woodpeckers are pecking at your siding, then they are going after bugs that are in or behind it.
Talk to an exterminator to see if there are bugs there, and get rid of them- once the food source is gone, the woodpeckers will leave too

My 95 year old Dad is also having a battle with Woodpeckers. He has synthetic stucco on his contemporary house. Why do the Woodpeckers like to drill holes in the stucco and how do we know if there are bugs behind there? He must have at least 15 holes.
