Is there a jasmine that can be grown in zone 6a or 6b? I miss the sweet fragrance from my time in San Fran. |

Hey ~ I'm in 6b West KY and I have one, or at least something similar (jessamine, I believe). It has yellow blooms in very early spring. I had to move it though ~ when I had it in part shade, it wouldn't bloom well ~ moved it into full sun. Even when it isn't blooming, it has pretty leaves and climbs and twines with wild abandon! I believe I got it at the Lowe's garden center back in March 05. |

Your best bet might be to plant a honeysuckle instead. Great fragrance, and hardy in your zone.

Yes, you're right ~ honeysuckle grows well here. A little TOO well . It's like kudzu ~ very invasive. I have about 7 acres of it behind the house. On the road behind us where I walk in the morning, it is all up in the trees ~ very beautiful and fragrant in the spring. We even get a rebloom around now, if the frost holds off long enough.Welcome to GG, grove! Sounds like you have a BIG move planned. And I thought going from Z5a to 6b was a shock !
