Is ornamental kale annual or perennial? I'm assuming annual but I truly don't know.

It is an annual. It is a great plant to use with pansies.

Not at all, crystaldawn. Actually a lot of kales are classified as biennials, and I've had them survive in my garden for nearly two years - spring, summer, fall, winter, spring, and then go to seed and die in the second summer. Could you do the same with ornamental kale? Maybe!
