I love antique photos that I can find of my family. I have been working on scanning them to keep permanently on my computer. I can't believe the detail you can get on little tiny pictures out of an old family album. Here are two of my family, the first one is my mother-in-law in 1940, she is on the far left, with her friends and the other one is of my grandparents on their farm. They immigrated from Germany and their farm was in Maryland. I would love to see any old pictures from anyone who enjoys them too. Vicky Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

My sister one year took time to gather pictures from all of us and made each family member a DVD. It is a delight! I too love the pictures from our parents and grandparents. Great looking group and look how young and thin they look. I have seen in today's shoe market those old shoes both my grandmothers wore. So tempted to get a pair. I always loved those shoes but I think it was mostly because they were on the feet of some very special ladies. Linda B |

Over the years i've been able to restore quite a few old family photos. It can be enjoyable, and in many cases you can restore some detail that you couldn't see. This is one that is almost 100 years old. My Grandfather is on the right, he's the station agent for the railroad, shipping the large granite from the quarry in central Texas to the new (then) Galveston seawall. It wasn't until I scanned the print and enlarged it that we could read the text painted on one of the boulders. Attachments: ![]() |

Oh, I love the old photos, too. These were great. I have stacks and stacks that I need to scan, but I never seem to have the time to do them. There are so many wonderful ones that it is overwhelming. |

My Mom gave me a bunch of her old family photos after Katrina, some of them were damaged by wetness or mold, but a few were salvageable. Here's three of my favorites. The first is my Mom's grandparents, who emigrated from Ontario to Masachusetts in the 1880's. Second one is my grandfather Henri Trudeau, whom I met once when I was a very small child, with a golfing buddy, circa 1932. Mom and her sister Jeanette are on the porch in the background. Mrs. Trudeau died when my Mom was 8. Third photo is my Mom in 1945, dressed for her senior prom. Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I thought that I'd join in the fun of old pictures. This is my husband (baby seated) in 1927. Attachments: ![]() |

Those are all so wonderful. Don't trust your computer to save all your memories though. Accidents happen sometimes. I thought I'd lost a lot I'd copied recently, but my son found them elsewhere on my computer. I'm still not clear how that happened, but I did lose some files, including photos, on my desktop that I hadn't put into my photos or into an online album site. This is my great, great grandmother, Lina Gehr, my great grandma, Nettie, and my great aunt and her sister, Edna, who's my grandma. I live in Nettie, Ruth, and Edna's house. Lina's picture was taken shortly after the Civil War. Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I found some old black and white negatives and did not have pictures of. I scanned the negatives then inverted the colors and wound up with perfect pictures. John |
