For some reason, the show of color on my hydrangeas did not last very long this season. They were beautiful thru May. By the time the end of July came, the lust of color faded. Just the other day, I noticed the last hint of color. Have any of you experienced the early decline in color on your hydrangea bush? Last hint of color Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

Mine came and went fast this year. I think the lack of rain did it. |

Just wasn't a good year for Hydrangias. Mine didn't show off as usual either. I want to think it was because of lack of rain also. We had a terrible dry spell and nothing grew as it has before. Today I noticed new blooms coming on a couple of my hydrangias but there's also a cool snap coming in tonight so I guess that will stop any more blooms for this year. |

fairygarden and bissybee, I suppose yall are right. Come to think of it, we really didn't have too much rain this year either. I'm wondering if I should trim them back one of these seasons. I know the time has gone by for the right time to trim them back. I've been having mine inground for at least 10 or so years and have never cut them back. They are very tall as well but usually put on a very good show. How old are yours and do you trim them back each year? |

I seldom trim my Hydrangeas either. But my neighbor hacks hers whenever and they do so well. Much better than mine. May let her come hack on mine next year. Linda B |
