I bought two plants just because and 'cause it was cheap. I read on the net (after I bought the plants) coffee does best on high elevations...I got that! Growth habit: Shrub/Tree. Now WHAT do I do with it? LOL Anyone ever plant these things? I don't even know what species it is. Coffee was the only thing written on the tag. Maybe someone can help ID it for me by the leaves? I'll search too but would appreciate the help with the ID and any info. anyone can give me. Thanks

Most likely Arabica- that's pretty much the only kind! Flavor changes according to WHERE it's grown, not variety ![]() I would treat it the same as any houseplant- Bright indirect light, average moisture, etc. I don't think it likes frost.... I almost bought one or 2 at Lowes a couple of years ago, but didn't for some stupid reason

I'm so sorry Aurora the tag did say bright indirect light...I didn't mention that. So sorry. So I can't plant it in my garden? Or can I look for a shady spot and plant it there? Thanks for the ID too! |

Since you live in S.CA, you don't get a frost- don't see why they can't be planted outside for you! I'd try planting one outside under a tree and the other in a nice pretty pot ![]() For me they would have to be houseplants When you harvest your coffee beans, can you send some to me? I like mine roasted dark

Thank you again Aurora! & good idea...I'll leave one in a pot and plant the other in ground! Sure...PM me your address lol! But, I also like dark roast so we'll have to fight over the amount of beans I send to you.

LOL! Have you tried Folger's Black Silk? Really good for the "cheap" stuff (which is all I can afford anymore

I don't remember ever buying folgers silk. I will next time if I remember. I like columbian, whoooweee is it strong! Yes, coffee is real expensive now. Yesterday, for the first time, in a long time, I bought some. Folgers "gourmet" kind. Folgers doesn't taste like it used to. "They" keep raising the price on coffee but none of the brands (cheap or expensive) taste good to me anymore. Or is it only me who thinks this about the coffee sold now?

I feel the same way about it not tasting the same anymore! The Black Silk is way stronger than the Columbian, and much smoother too ![]() Last time I drank the Columbian it tasted "sour" to me The cheapest place around here to buy coffee is Wal-mart- they usually have the Folgers for under $10, whereas my local grocery stores are usually in the $11-12 range! Sometimes they have something on sale- then I buy about 3 containers

Walmart has gone crazy with the prices too! Seen the price on instant coffee? Yes, I ignored the columbian coffee this time 'cause I didn't like the taste of it last time I bought it. as i said not like before. I HAVE to try "Silk" now!
