The one on the bottom looks like a mutant swan! There's good Halloween gardening!

Another Halloween Helpful Hint: There were a series of burglaries in the area. People took a variety of precautions. I had gargoyles installed.

I wouldn't even think of eating those mushrooms. LOL first they are too old secondly inky and it looks like they may grow from an egg type base (see if the base is growing from a egg type wrap)and seem to have a ring on the stipe. That would indicate poisonous to me.

I have many varieties of mushrooms that grow in the yard. Because I knew someone who specialized in identification, classification, etc., I am too scared to eat any of them. He would hold up an identical one to the edible variety (to me) and say, "...and this one... no antidote."

Yes, relatively few mushrooms are poisonous (know what they are)and of those that are, only a little bit will be fatal if consumed. I'd try one in a heartbeat..lol..thing is only a nibble will do at first make sure you are not allergic or sensitive that is more the thing here.

You are very brave! I once posted a gallery of mushrooms that came up in the yard. The variety is amazing and quite lovely when we have a lot of rain. I love mushrooms when I know I am not going to die. Lol.

I have gargoyles and a "Fu-Dog" in my gardens. I just love the way they look peeking out from my plants

Not brave ( and certainly not even bold) as I was once told "there are bold mushroom hunters and there are old mushroom hunters but there are NO old bold mushroom hunters" I like to look more than eat unless we are talking about morels. I've got some photo's on my profile of mushrooms in my back yard and those are only the most interesting ones.
