This white AV is just outdoing itself with flowers this time around. It was a cutting from my sister a few years ago. Even the pink one is doing nicely. Linda B Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

How beautiful! I used to grow AV's when I lived in the apartment. Converted an old stereo stand into a little plant display. Put flourescent lights in it too. Had some miniatures that were adorable! Mine never looked that good though...maybe I should try them again

Years ago --too many years ago--one of my first plants was an african violet. I was so unlearned. I put it in a purple plastic easter pail, no drainage holes, never once fed it, put it on the back of a commode....and the dang thing thrived. I have never had another one do good since.

One of my most favorite houseplants. My mother grew them all the time. She lived in a basement house (commonly called a 'Polish' flat) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Those windows used to get frost on them almost an inch thick but there sat the African Violets just blooming their hearts out most of the year. The myriad of colors is wonderful. And, now, they make containers specifically for AFs so they are easier to take care of. When I get a house of my own, I will certainly have some along with other houseplants. |
