Anybody ever bought from this company? I have a pretty large area that I want to plant some tough wildflowers on. I'll have seeds of my own and from trade, but I'm considering getting some of the "dry" mix, or "Midwestern" mix, or "Short" mix from this site to fill in, in case some of my seeds don't make it. http://www.outsidepride.com/catalog/Low-Grow-Wildf lower-Mix-p-17742.html |

Aimee! Warning, warning, Will Robinson (ok, bad Lost in Space reference). Seriously, are you a member at Dave's Garden? Read these comments in the Garden Watchdog over there: http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/1903/ Something seems very odd about this place. Maybe you would want to stick to Park Seed. ETA ~ you know, come to think of it, I never have had very good luck with those seeds mixes. Except one I found at Walgreen's for a dollar, and a poppy mix I got from www.highcountrygardens.com. Gosh ~ how helpful am I today??! |

Ha, I'll go over to Dave's and check it out. I'm not a member there (yet) but every time I search for something I wind up there. I've tried growing the cheapo mixes a couple times and haven't had luck, I was hoping this place knew their stuff. But then again, this is why I asked! Park seed has good mixes? Like I said, I'll have lots of seed but I don't trust myself to do it right well enough without some kind of backup!! **** Popping back in to edit after going over to Dave's watchdog page. This reminds me I forgot a VERY important example of e-shorthand on the Over The Garden Fence thread on the subject. OK, Park Seed it is, or Wal-Mart, or whatever. Geez. |

Sorry you had trouble Aimee! If you just copy the link in my post and then paste it in your browser window, the DG page should come up. I only joined Dave's for their Plantfiles and watchdog services. The forums are a bit too (gosh, how do I say it?) highbrow, maybe ~ for me. Some of the people there are WAY too smart and I tend to start feeling like a moron .Yes, I was more surprised than anyone when I had luck with that one dollar seedbox ~ would have bought more if I had known it would work so well. I found it at Walgreen's (the drugstore) in early spring when they put the seasonal stuff out. It was probably a one-time deal. You can see a picture of how it performed in my photos. My best advice ~ join our seed-box-swap coming up soon. You will get so much cool stuff in there, you won't need a wildflower mix! |

Wow! I can't believe a company would do that sort of stuff!

No, no, I DID use your link to go over to Dave's, it worked fine. I meant what in the ...world... do they think they're doing using people's info for negative propaganda like that??? Seriously, what do their nasty views have to do with my coreopsis seeds. Shameful. |

Oh, ok ~ gotcha. Yeah, does seem odd ~ that's why I posted the link, even though I have had no experience with them. It's probably best if they don't have your address, email or otherwise. |
