Here is what Im doing, Zone 9 , Central Florida
I don't know if its to late or the wrong time of the season to plant potatoes but I did it, yes I am confessing, and here is what I did and what Im going to do. "Wish Me Luck"

See the Pepper plants in the first picture gives you a visual of the size of barrels I will be using (24" wide and 28"deep).

I replanted 8 barrel/containers, first I drilled 4 more holes and added soil mix, appox 6" deep, and planted four potato sproutting pcs. in each container. I will place old hay around as the plants get 6" high and keep placing the old hay until they reach the top or the tops die off giving me the signal they are ready. hopefully when ready I will dump over for everyone to see the harvest, I will keep everyone posted that would like to see progresss.(see pictures) Later & Thanks Guilt Trip

I think it's a great idea, and I wish you good fortune. But recalling your earlier description of your soil prep, I think even with some bad fortune you'll get a good yield.

Keep us "posted"!
