Thanks, Steroman and Aurora for the Hot Hot Hot, better back off and rethink what your doing in the Mulch/Lime fourm, I needed that. ariving home yesterday afternoon to find a huge pile of horse stable clean-out by my garden area, a friend "Dan" said he had nothing to do yesterday so he took his trailor and picked me up 28 yards Yes! 28 yards of the hottest half composted horse stable Beautiful stuff you ever saw. after looking at what large pile of mixings I had, I thought I would use the existing soil mix in my containers for my now ready fall planting, and build me a compost pile for my spring Garden.
So here is the stuff I have,
* 28yards of horse (smoking half rotten) stable stuff
* 14 yards of 1/2 composted chips tree cips
* 14 yards top soil from construction site
* 3-5 yards grass clippings (neighbor cuts grass for living)
* 50 lbs 10-10-10 fert. "you all said WOOOOO !"
* 25 lbs Hydrated Lime
* 3 5gal. buckets old drywall mun and small pile of drywall ti cvhop up
* a roll of last years hay
I NEED HELP TO DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME

oh! I am not shoveling all this, Dan is bringing his bobcat tractor to layer or mix this all up, HELP What should I do ? I told Dan to wait . Thanks Guilt Trip

Have Dan layer the ingredients. You are going to have enough compost for the entire neighborhood!! Lucky you!
Also try to add a lot of leaves to the mix too Easy enough once fall really sets in.
You can also use leaves and grass clippings as a mulch on your gardens too

This Compost in the trailor came out of that grassed over pile that has set for a year,"GOOD STUFF". I am going to use that stuff NOW!. The other pictures is that of fresh stable stuff/clipings (1/2 rotten) and top soil, as suggested I will layer keep wet until spring. The new compost pile will be about 8-10' wide and about 20' long, I will keep ya updated on the progress and Thanks a lot. I hope this stuff grows like the old mix did, but thats another story. Thanks for all the help, Guilt Trip
