I purchased some seeds along with others from an online site. I've had luck with the other types of seeds that I purchased, but not with the bay leaf. I've heard cuttings are best, but have no access to a tree. Anyone have any suggestions? |

Years ago when I was living in Charlotte, I got a small bay from a nursery. It wasn't very expensive. (If it had been, I wouldn't have bought it. hahaha) It survived pretty well for a while till we had a really bad winter and it succumbed. I would think that buying a small one at a nursery would be the best way to go. |

I did some research and I think you are right. I read that the seed can take from 10 days to 6 months to germinate!

Let us know when you get one and how it's doing. One of my friends has a sunporch. She brings hers in each winter. Bless her heart, she shares a little harvest with me. I get a little pack of leaves to use, and she gladly replenishes it when I run out. |
