Hello,
Can anyone help me and tell me why my zucchini grow to be about 4" then turn to mush? The leaves are HUGE and the plant looks healthy but since I got the 1st "normal" zucchini, the rest won't mature.

Failure to fertilize the female flowers. You need some friendly happy insects in your garden!

Hi, are there any experts on growing squash? I had the same problem with mine this past spring, I only got 1 really nice zucchini out of 6 plants now I'm trying to grow butter cup and would like to prevent the same thing from happening, any advice?

If needed, you can hand-pollinate the flowers yourself. Take a Q-tip and run it around inside the male flower picking up pollen. Then run it around the inside of the female flower transferring the pollen. That should ensure you get fruits that mature

An easy way to hand pollinate is to pick a male flower and simply put it against the female flower open flower to open flower and push in enough to touch then twist the male back and forth
