I think that weather is the main culprit. You are farther north than I am, but down here it is too hot and humid for peppers or tomatoes.

Yes this is true for us Florida gardeners but now is a great time to get them starded, tomatoes and peppers do better here in the fall in part shade. Bunching onions too!

I'm having the same trouble & so is my brother, all of his just died. I got one anaheim pepper early & that's it. I kept "babying" my pepper plants & I can say they don't look to bad. They have some flowers but it's kinda late in the season for them to just start budding now. I'll see how it works out.
We're blaming our wet summer & cool summer.

I've heard most commercial growers down here start their peppers in October. They then harvest the last of the peppers in early summer and repeat the procees. Summer is time for Okra, Cucumbers, Zuchinni, etc.

My pepper plants grew great but the peppers were small as baseballs ? must have been the seeds that I planted ?. They were good and the plants were loaded. Later Guilt Trip

My peppers usually aren't as large as their grocery store counterparts. The difference is probably the chemicals used to grow them and keep them pest/disease free. Bell Peppers the size of baseballs sound good to me.

If you want a large pepper for stuffing, try a cubanelle.

Cubanella get ready for the ground, I love stuffed peppers, I ate at a restaurant last month and they had a stuffed pepper soup, now this was a buffet type lunch and I ate four bowls of that soup and nothing else, If you see a stuffed pepper soup recipe let me know for I have found my weakness, Later Guilt Trip

Check out the recipe forum here. There are lots of different recipes on there. I haven't seen stuffed peppers, so why not post a request for one on there?

Otherwise, I usually rely on foodnetwork.com or http://www.recipezaar.com

So, it's the weather that is affecting the growth?? Maryland has hot, humid summers but I thought peppers liked that type of weather.
