I've heard it's fabulous. Haven't tried it yet- not sure why... I think it works best if you water with it every time you water. Correct me if I'm wrong

I used this method to bring my eggplants back to life this summer. They went dormant around the middle of July. I applied compost tea about every three days, then flushed it into the soil with a few gallons of water. By the beginning of August I had new flowers, and now there are a few fruit growing as well as more flowers. |

I just fill a bucket about half full of finished compost, then fill the rest of the way with water, give it a good stir, and then leave it alone til the next day. Then I pour off the liquid right onto the ground. Usually I get a fair amount of sediment poured off as well, but hey, that's okay! |

S.Man...I found some stuff in the dollar store, and did some research before I went back and bought all of it. It's just molasses, from beets. Evidently, it has a similar use as the worm tea. If feeds the microorganisms in the soil. I believe the worm tea is better, as you are actually growing these organisms, and you can't possibly use too much. Here's the link again for the homemade brewer...evidently, aeration is the key to making lots of benny organisms. http://wormtec.com.au/diy%20tea%20brewer.htm |
