Hi,

I was wondering if we could start a new bonsai forum under the "The Ornamental Garden" group. When I search for bonsai entries, the results come back in the "Container Gardening", "Trees and Shrubs" and "Houseplants" forums. I think that the topic of bonsai, while it does share aspects of all of these groups, is distinctive enough that it would benefit from its own forum.

Thanks,

Robert

Hi Robert,

That is a GREAT idea!

However…we recently streamlined the forums so it is difficult to add new ones. I have posted a new Bonsai topic in the "The Ornamental Garden" group, under the Trees and Shrubs section. That way Bonsai can have its very own thread!

Enjoy!

Hey, Robert, I couldn't agree more. This has been a passion her lately but can't get enough information to keep it going. I have several specimens to work with.
So Please add this.

Thanks John

Gosh Thanks Kate, the most I could do was to add a 'sticky' for people that wanted to share Daturas. Linda B

Excuse me, but what am I missing here.
A moderator started a new topic!
I fail to see the 'wow' in that fact.

I agree now, told2b, I was so excited to just get a response to the Roberts request, that I didn't make the connection between a thread and a forum. I have not been thinking right lately.
I guess that the request for a bonsia "Forum" is still unfulfilled.
Thanks for waking me up.

Hi Everyone,

So the reason I did not open a new forum topic for ‘Bonsai’ was because we just spent a lot of time cleaning up the forums. But if the Bonsai thread takes off, we will definitely open a new topic for Bonsai in the "The Ornamental Garden" group.

Just trying to take some precautions!

Hope you understand.

Hi Kate,

A single thread for the topic of Bonsai will never take off. It's unwieldy. There are entire websites devoted exclusively to bonsai and you want it contained in a single thread? One thread won't ever "take off." People will just look for the information elsewhere it's more easily found.

Think bigger.

Regards,

Robert

I must say that I had no idea where to begin in my sharing. There are such things to consider as good plants, tools, pots, style, accessories, watering/pruning, transplanting, wiring etc. I have only been doing Bonsai over a year now and it has been a little overwhelming at times doing my own research. I do love it and am so thrilled with my success but I have a few failures too. And I must admit I still have a LOT to learn.
