At the beginning I thought they were being eaten by birds so I placed a scarecrow next to them... I think there is something else going on. Any ideas?

I did some research and It seems to be sunscald which makes absolutely sense since we are having 3 digits temperature... for quite a bit now. But I'm still considering other causes.

Hi, you could be right, when it's super hot outside sometimes the heat causes them to whither and dry out.
