More blooms from around the garden: cherry tomatoes, a massive hydrangea bloom, and my Knockout roses which are still blooming profusely. Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Some weird nasty looking fungus (my mom has started calling it "the brain"), butterfly sipping on the butterfly bush, my two zinnias still going strong, and a Rose of Sharon bloom, finally! Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The neighbor behind us had a little forest of Rose of Sharon sapplings growing next to her shed, and let me dig a few up. My favorite shrub, and didn't cost me a penny, so why not ![]() Planted them at the end of the driveway, pruned off a foot or so from each one, to help it put more energy into root redevelopment. I realize its not the best time to transplant, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Given their reputation for being hardy and tough, and seeing how easily they sprouted up in my neighbor's yard, I have some confidence they'll hang in there. Attachments: ![]() |

Congrats on your "at last" blooming ROS, dude. No worries on "wrong" transplanting time, ROS will practically grow itself. |

Gardendude - I love the Brain - fungus. It looks like coral on land. (We don't get much fungus here, too dry) |
