well after my girls summer reading program about butterflies...the girls and i went out in our backyard to find some monarch eggs on our milkweed...and we found 1 egg...so anyways today i went out to cut the milkweed and put it in our butterfly house to watch it grow...and i found 2 eggs and a little teeny tiny monarch catepillar eating away...i was so excited at my find...i almost didn't see the catepillar as it was so tiny...i am going to get some pics posted so everyone can watch them grow...

I have always loved the Monarchs, I am in the migration path, and after reading your post, I must get me some milkweed. It must be something to get to see a butterfly in the making.

o.k. i am so late getting these pics up...

the 1st one was taken on july 22nd

2nd one on july 24th

3rd one on july 26th

4th & 5th were taken today august 5th

sorry the pics are so blurry but i couldn't get any closer with my camera without it going to automatic focus...

this is the best i could do with something so tiny....

now i went out to get more milkweed leaves and my daughter, who is 8, found some growing out in the middle of the lawn where i mow...so i checked all 3 of the plants and we found 7 teeny tiny monarch caterpillars and 2 monarch eggs...i am so excited i hope they live...

we also found a black swallowtail caterpillar on some queen anne's lace...my daughter took a pic for me...it is the last picture in the group...

**MY MONARCH IS NOW IN THE PUPA STAGE**CHECK OUT THE NEW PHOTO**
