Yes, the mints are nice, and I do like mine, but it sure can take over. A lot of people suggest planting it in a pot and then sinking the pot in the garden bed. It contains the spreading rhizomes. I, of course, didn't do that. I don't mind pulling it up. It smells wonderful and is easy to pull.

It does smell wonderful. I don't mind keeping it in check either. Rich on the other hand does not like it coming out between his rocks and along the sidewalk. I guess I will have to sacrafice and pull it all out for him!!! lol

I tried this and the tea was a clear color! Isn't that funny? I'm using the tea instead of water to make formula for my colicky baby. It worked really well to drink while I was nursing, but now that I'm weaning her to go back to work, the doctor said to try this. It's like homemade gripe water, I guess.

She really liked the taste of mint-flavored formula. I have to wait a few more hours to see if it worked.

Folks used to live in houses and huts with dirt floors... they would bring in rushes, herbs and mint to walk on. Take an old pillowcase and stuff it with mint then bring it inside and plop it on an unused chair or hang it from a coat hook out of the way. Your house will smell amazing. Do the same thing with rosemary or any other aromatic herb.

And after looking at your pictures, I might advise a serious root pruning. Mint WILL overrun everything in your garden. Be sure to pull out all the shallow runners back to the core plant you wish to keep or it will continue to pop up and spread like a bad rumor. Do this every fall or spring to keep it in check.

I grow different herbs but have never used them. I am liking the idea of chocolate covered mint leaves and a pillow case of herbs. Thanks yall.

Wow must be lots of water in the area for that mint to get that way huh? I like the look. So pretty and I can image what the scent would be like if I walked in the area. Yummy! : )
