My mint is looking a little sad. I'm wondering if it's going to flower at all this year. Oh, well, it's my first year growning it. I think it might be getting a bit too much sun, some of the leaves are turning brown and falling off. Maybe if I moved the pots to a more shaded area? |

My mint grows great in the shade. It only receives direct sunlight from 6-8pm or so right now. |

I water it every day. I just chopped a bunch off because it's making babies, and I'm going to move the pots around this evening. I'll see if that makes a difference. |

I found another use for mint! Add a few leaves to your chocolate ice cream. It makes your food pretty, tastes great with the last bite, and freshens your breath. |

Quote: Originally posted by witt dame, it will consume your whole yard. I don't think that you can hurt the mint. I just pull mine up when it gets unruly and it grows back with no problems, but you must keep it in check, unless you want mint growing everywhere. You can just whack it back if it starts looking bad after it has gone to see and it'll just pop right back out. I don't like for mine to get tall. It's tough and not tender.I was just reading about all of the mint postings. We were working out in the front yard today and yes Witt you are right it does spread. When we moved here the people before us had planted some our front flower bed. That bed was a mess and I really had to clean it up. I pulled most of the mint out and left it in one little spot and it is spreading again. It looks alot better though. It was all spindly and bug eaten. I picked some of it today, I will try some of the recipes everyone has talked about. Yummy, in the ice cream! I think I might try that first. |
