I had to miss my daughter's graduation while I was in the hospital. One of us absolutely had to be there, so my husband stayed with me until the next day and then flew home and then drove 15hrs to Fort Jackson. Quite a bit of juggling we had to do there. I am so proud. Can you imagine that little bitty thing carrying an M16? Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

Oh, Bayou, I can relate. You must be so proud and so scared at the same time. When my son graduated and got his "Lieutenant Bar", I fought back tears the whole time. That first salute killed me. BUT I AM SO PROUD of him and what he's become. You are, too, I am sure! |

I come from a family of many servicemen. My late father in law served in 3 wars. My late sister served in the Navy during the Viet Nam era. It is scary, but I truly feel God will guide her. My friend who is the director of The Red Cross says there will be a possibility that she will be called to service. But more likely to take an administrative position to relieve someone else to go. |
