Hi, I filled two window boxes on my porch with red and white and dark royal purple and white petunias. They have the white ruffled edges. They have been doing great for over a month, and they have been flowering like crazy... I have noticed now that at the base of the plants the edges of the leaves are turning brown... one entire stalk of one plant turned brown, shriveled and died... They are still flowering a lot, and look great from the front... I water them in the evening after the sun goes down to prevent sunburn damage. Has anyone experienced this before? If yes, how do I go about fixing this? I love my petunias and I don't want them to die. thank you in advance! Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

Petunias are susceptible to several of the viruses which are also found on tomatoes and potatoes--like the tobacco virus. Once they get it, there's nothing to do but get it out of there before it infects the others. |
