Willow trees in zone 4: I have had this willow tree for three years now. There was a problem keep it to stay straight. Last year was really good but now its bark on the bottom is hollow but the top wants to make nice leaves. I gave it a shot of Bayer insect control and some really expensive tree food. Also tried to feed it down by the roots. Cut of a lot of dead branches but it stopped growing higher. Any ideas? Thank You. |

Willows usually grow pretty good if they are kept moist. Is it a weeping willow or a river willow? I would say to keep the bad limbs off and let the rest just grow. sorry that I can't be more help. John |
