It must be some kind of bulb I tucked between the palm and agapanthus months ago. The bloom it so colorful and hummers love it. Please help!!! Thanks~Andrea

Not sure of its exact name but it looks like Palm to me. Try Paurotis palm.

If it's the same as mine...every year I get a bunch growing in my yard. Real hard to get rid of them when you have clay dirt. Sort of grow like weed here. But it's real purrrty if you wanna keep it.

Oh Rash, I wish we had more hardy palms to zone 8. I have three large containers on my deck that have Windmills in them then I underplant with agapanthus and a couple of other unusual foliage plants. I need to know the name of the flower in the photo. I think it's a bulb of some type. Thanks~Andrea

Maybe Crassulaceae family? I id a plant a few days ago (not at GG), it had similar flowers to yours & was in the Kalanchoe (crassulaceae) genus. Maybe, yours can be in the same family also? I'm not sure just thought I should mention it anyway.

have a picture of the leaves?

Thanks for your help Rash, I will take photos of the leaves today. They are nondescript and few, long slender and grass-like. You are so good at identification, if you have a chance, please take a look at my other post under this forum(approximately two pages back): Three plants need names!!! Again, thanks for your knowledge~Andrea

Ha ha, Rashell...I had looked at this yesterday & got off on a long sidetrack to find a plant I had ID'd years ago (that I believe is the same as this--a bulb plant). But my brain doesn't want to cooperate on coughing up a name.

It DOES look very similar to Kalanchoe porphyrocalyx, which I'm guessing is the one you ID'd elsewhere, Rashell. I'm betting I have pix of the former ID'd plant on some CD around here, but no telling which that might be. No time for a hunt today!

I hope someone else comes along who recognizes it. It's a neat one, Andrea!
