Hi, Thanks. I did a search for the goatbeard and it has pointer leaves. This plant has roundish leaves and frilly puffy like things on it. Chris |

Could it be Chionanthus virginicus Old Man's Beard just beginning to flower? |

HI, I took a closer shot of one of the puffy things on this plant this morning. What ever it is it's pretty cool. Thanks to anyone who can help. Chris Attachments: ![]() |

Small volunteers of the American Smoketree is my guess. Try Cotinus obovatus. |

Thanks Evonne, I did some image searchs with the info you gave and I'd say positively that it is a Smoke Tree. Thank you very much! It's great that it just grew ther on it's own. Its got a bunch of smaller ones growing around it. I think I'll try to move a few of them around the yard. Chris |
