Hi All,

Well, yesterday I went and picked my Stawberries for the year. I decided that I would make some Jam this year! So we have all the Jam we will ever need and this am I made Stawberry Pancakes. I am looking for other ideas on things I can do with all the other stawberries I have left. Any ideas?

Slice some and measure them for different desserts and bag them. Freeze the bags flat and then stack them. They won't take up much room that way. Or freeze cleaned strawberries on a cookie sheet covered with some parchment or a couple layers of waxed paper and then throw those in a plastic bag. You can take out however may you want to use.

I didn't think of the cookie sheets. I have just been putting some in tupperware containers and doing it that way.

Yeah, if you freeze them flat first then you can break it up and put it in tupperware. That way you can take out only what you want without having a big strawberry brick. It works with lots of stuff.

I ended up making ALOT of Jam and so much that I gave some to afew of our neighbors. Plus we made some pancakes which I thought was GREAT! and I did freeze several containers full.

It is so hard to know exactly how to freeze because counting me we are a family of 5.

Strawberry shortcake? Strawberry/rhubarb pie? Just eating from a bowl?

My husband wanted the pie sooooo bad but the ruhbarb season is all done here. I'm trying to find some frozen someplace.

Thank you all for the ideas. I have been busy making all sorts of things!

Wish I had my strawberries back---I had frozen them and put them into the freezer. But our freezer died... One way that our family likes frozen berries: Before you make supper or whatever meal, put the frozen berries in a bowl, sprinkled with a little bit of sugar. While you cook on the stove, the heat will help to melt the berries. When you are all done eating, mix some yogurt, any flavor will do, as long as it sounds good, in with the berries and give everyone a bowl full. Everyone will love it, at least we all do! (and we're a family of 5)
