Welcome to the site. I just joined GG last week. Lots of helpful people with great ideas and they're willing to share information. We were just in Seattle last week celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our son lives in Portland...he's in the music scene. Good luck with your garden. We live in New Mexico so we have different issues with soil, water, etc. Best thing to do is come up with a plan. Think about how you want to use your space. I use raised beds so I can fortify the soil with peat moss, top soil and manure. Don't use manure with root crops because it's too acidy. I have some pictures of my garden. Hope it helps with your ideas. Happy gardening.
