This is from my neighbors front yard, she has a bunch of them. It's quite a bushy perennial plant. I have left her a message on her phone to ask what it is, but she is staying at her cottage for most of the summer and I'm dying to know. The plants are filled with these stalks of beautiful yellow flowers. It seems I have searched the internet and still no luck of identifying it. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
Kelly

Looks like a yellow false foxglove to me. Or yellow loosestrife...
All are native wildflowers

Yellow loosestrife it is!!! Thank you so much. Here is a link to exactly what it looks like.

Sounds like it can be invasive. I just tore out a bunch of potantillas and need something that can cover a decent amount of space and I think this may be just the thing along with some catmint for additional color.

Thanks again, I knew you guys would help me!

It is definitely yellow loosestrife. It is a great plant, but it does spread freely. some people call it aggressive and it is bad when planted near water, but I have always found it very controllable. If you buy a cultivated variety they are much, much more tame. As a cultivated variety you can get it variegated, it is very nice. Long flowering season, I loved it. Lastly, I planted some in a 1-2 gallon pot and planted the pot in the ground and it was very easy to control. It grows from underground runners. it is on the left side of the photo on the bottom photo.
