ive been harvesting my hewrbs fer acoupler weeks now --did the 2nd one today-- im corious what you CAN literally destroy the plant an itill come back stronger also my basils seem REALLY lagging in leaf reproduction id figure where i put thyem not all bad even tho its shady still gets some sun an my seedling basils arent even 2 inches tall so yea i think there gonna take a WHILE to get big enough to harvest i hope its just not all summer

--ive been harvesting the mints lets see bigger leaves on basils --so only green ruffles and african blue-- lemon verabena stevia an yea

whats the "most efficient" way to dry everything tho?? (i have basils mints stevia lemonverabena lemonbalm catnip beebalm borage pineapplesage upwright and creeping rosemary an i think that covers) most are just leaves that i dry ill occasionally do the upside down bundle thing might do later in the season or rihgt now i have them in a basket seperated by tp that sais whats on top of it some dries really fast outhers take longer im also pressing some too--did with flowers works well using borage an some little of everything really--

The best way to dry herbs is a natural dry, you want to spread the leaves out on a screeen or so to dry, this keeps the best flavor for cooking. If they are not spread apart they may mold. You can use other methods such as a food dehydrator but you will lose alot of the natural oils in herbs for cooking. For my basil, I Freeze Dry. Wash the leaves and pat them dry then place all in a freezer bag until frozen the crush them and keep in the freezer. When you cook with the basil use it at very last in a simmer when the food is cooked to get the best basil flavor in your recipe.

all my art supplies a\n i dont have a SINGLE screen my uncle has an old food dehydrater but i doubt i could get my paws on it i have freeze dryied before tossed all into 1 container in the freezer totally open an yea i think it took too long like a month fer 1 batch CRAZY plus it is hard ta get the space fer a glad container free in there lol

ill have ta shoot what im dooin now nuthin really gets moldy this way ive also done the freezer thing in a small cd like rectangle "storage" container bedfore that seems ta work well BUT agin everything is tossed together THATS what im tryin ta avoid dooin

I have never dried anything but roses and we have always hung them upside down from the rafters to allow them to air dry is that not how you dry herbs too?
